The MJD1600 is an oil-wet coil-to-coil polishing and grinding line for continuous steel-coil surface processing. The documented process integrates coil loading, powered decoiling, strip feeding and leveling, crop shearing, No.4 abrasive-belt polishing, four-head hairline finishing, cleaning and drying, protective-film application, post-tensioning, EPC-guided recoiling and auxiliary coil handling in one production sequence.
The No.4 section uses a dual-side configuration of eight polishing units — three for the back side and five for the top side — producing a uniform short-grain directional pattern. Downstream, a dedicated four-head hairline machine creates the continuous long linear grain of a hairline finish. The process sequence (No.4 only, hairline only, or No.4 + hairline) is selected per order.
Coil handling is fully powered: hydraulic loading and unloading trolleys, support arms, powered mandrels and pinch rolls move coils of up to 25 MT through the line. The recoiler uses an EPC system — detection lens, light source, control module, servo valve and feedback sensor — to correct winding position, and the finished strip is protected by brush cleaning, high-pressure air drying and double-sided protective-film application.
Documented parameters include a coil thickness range of 0.3–3.0 mm, a maximum line speed of 60 m/min, an approximate total installed capacity of 800 kW and a line footprint of about 37,000 × 8,000 mm. The source document contains different width limits for the complete line and individual machines, so the approved working width is confirmed for each project.
